Sous Chef – Care Home Kitchen

About the role

Join Hallmark Luxury Care Homes as a Sous Chef and help create warm, nutritious dining experiences for our residents. Working in a family‑run environment, you’ll support the Head Chef in delivering high‑quality meals using fresh, seasonal produce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
• Assist in developing innovative, balanced menus tailored to resident preferences.
• Prepare and present wholesome dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Manage food budgets, control stock levels and minimise waste.
• Conduct regular quality and hygiene audits to maintain HACCP standards.

Required profile

• Warm, personable attitude with a genuine care for residents.
• City & Guilds, NVQ or SVQ culinary qualification (or equivalent).
• Good understanding of nutrition and seasonal cooking.
• Ability to engage residents in menu planning.
• Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards.
