Spacecraft Systems Engineer

About the role

As a Spacecraft Systems Engineer you will act as the technical architect for our satellite missions, driving system design, trade‑offs and integration across subsystems. You will collaborate with subsystem engineers, project managers and operations teams to deliver feasible, reliable spacecraft solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop spacecraft mission and system designs, including mass, power, data and propellant budgets.
• Support requirements derivation, allocation, verification and traceability.
• Perform system‑level trade studies and generate technical documentation such as CONOPS, V&V plans, DDVPs and ICDs.
• Manage system‑level interfaces, including space‑to‑ground, TMTC and ICD ownership.
• Coordinate engineering activities across subsystem teams and support validation, test‑bed and environmental test campaigns.
• Contribute to mission‑level FDIR, FMECA and fault‑tree analyses.
• Assist with project reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and support bid work and early mission studies.
• Provide assistance during launch, in‑orbit commissioning and operational phases.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in satellite system engineering.
• Strong understanding of critical satellite subsystems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of attitude and orbit control subsystems.
• Experience with satellite level AIT, system FFTs, STB, TMTC and MIB activities.
• Familiarity with GMAT and Orekit tools.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB or similar analysis tooling.
• Experience with FMECA, FDIR, fault‑tree analysis and reliability engineering.
• Exposure to ESA mission environments.
