Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) – Secondary School

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead its SEND provision. You will work closely with teachers, external agencies and senior leadership to ensure inclusive practice and high‑quality support for students with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all SEND provision across the secondary school.
• Coordinate targeted interventions and monitor their effectiveness.
• Manage the EHCP process, liaising with external professionals and families.
• Support teaching staff with inclusive strategies and curriculum adaptations.
• Promote whole‑school inclusion and uphold high standards of behaviour and academic progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• NASENCO qualification or willingness to complete it.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice.
• Proven experience supporting students with diverse needs.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Valid DBS or willingness to obtain one.
