About the role
We are looking for a confident and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a specialist SEN school in Southwark. The role involves supporting pupils aged 4‑19 with a range of complex needs, working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver inclusive learning experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Lead small‑group and whole‑class learning activities, adapting content to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
- Deliver targeted interventions for autism, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and related communication needs.
- Provide cover for lessons when required, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Promote independence, positive behaviour and life‑skills development.
Required profile
- Previous experience as an HLTA in an SEN setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with autism, severe learning difficulties, PMLD or other complex needs (desirable).
- Confidence in leading lessons, delivering interventions and managing behaviour.
- Full‑time availability with immediate start.
