About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join our specialist school in Cambridge. This permanent, full‑time position starts on 1 September 2026 and offers the chance to make a real impact on the lives of young people with diverse special educational needs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalised lessons for pupils with SEND, including ASD, SEMH, MLD/SLD, and communication needs.
- Create a nurturing, structured, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to support holistic pupil development.
- Use adaptive teaching strategies and specialist approaches to promote communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
- Assess and track progress, contributing to EHCP targets and reviews.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in school‑based or specialist provision.
- Patience, resilience, creativity and a passion for inclusive education.
- Strong behaviour‑management, communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Commitment to pupil wellbeing, safety and progress.
