About the role
A specialist school in SE13 is seeking a qualified SEN Teacher to join its inclusive team from September 2026. You will work in a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full academic, social and emotional potential.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with special educational needs.
- Support pupils across a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and promote emotional wellbeing.
- Monitor progress, adapt teaching strategies and contribute to EHCP reviews and assessments.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists and parents/carers.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Demonstrated experience teaching pupils with special educational needs.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A caring, patient and adaptable approach to teaching.
Required skills
- Knowledge of SEN legislation and EHCP processes.
- Ability to differentiate curriculum for diverse learning needs.
- Collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
