Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor – Part‑time

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor to provide one‑to‑one or small‑group tutoring for children and young people with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or other additional needs. The role is part‑time and temporary, offering flexible hours to fit your schedule while delivering high‑quality support in core subjects such as English and Maths.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored tutoring sessions for pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Assess each student’s progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent approach.
• Maintain accurate records of sessions, outcomes and any required adjustments.
• Provide a supportive, patient and empathetic learning environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with children or young people who have SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or similar additional needs.
• Background in teaching or tutoring English, Maths or other core subjects.
• Patient, adaptable and empathetic attitude.
• Ability to build positive relationships and inspire confidence in learners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND frameworks and strategies.
• Understanding of SEMH, ASD and ADHD characteristics.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills.
