Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Cambridge)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our school in Cambridge. You will work closely with students aged 5 to 19 who have complex learning needs, providing personalised support to help them achieve their educational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one assistance to students, ensuring individual learning goals are met.
• Assist with the implementation of specialised learning plans and educational interventions.
• Create and maintain a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop tailored strategies.
• Monitor and report on students' academic and social‑emotional development.
• Support students during outings, field trips, and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual needs.
• Relevant experience or qualifications in special education (desirable but not essential).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
