Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our independent day school in Royston, Hertfordshire. The role is full‑time, term‑time only (40 hours per week) and offers the chance to make a real difference to children and young people aged 6‑19 with a wide range of additional learning needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support students across the curriculum, both in the classroom and during community outings.
• Assist with personal care, physical support and the development of independence.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver high‑quality, inclusive support.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and confidence building.
• Help students improve communication, sensory processing and daily living skills.

Required profile

• Passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential.
• Caring, patient and positive attitude.
• Willingness to undertake fully funded training and qualifications.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
