Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support children with special needs in a primary school in Sudbury. This full‑time, temporary position starts as soon as possible and offers a rewarding environment where you can make a real difference.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one assistance to students, helping them achieve their individual learning objectives.
• Assist in delivering and monitoring personalized learning plans and educational interventions.
• Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom atmosphere.
• Track and report on pupils’ academic progress and social‑emotional development.
• Support students during outings, field trips and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patience, empathy and flexibility in adapting teaching approaches.
• Relevant experience or qualifications in special education (desirable but not essential).
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
