Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant – Newbury

About the role

We are partnering with inclusive schools in Newbury that need enthusiastic professionals to support pupils with additional needs. As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant you will help children feel confident, supported and engaged in their learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or challenging behaviour, helping them make academic and personal progress.
• Assist pupils to feel confident, supported and engaged in classroom activities and learning tasks.

Required profile

• A positive, proactive and resilient approach with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to adapt support to individual needs.
• Patient, caring and encouraging attitude; previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs is desirable.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Practitioner or in a specialist SEN setting is ideal, preferably across KS1 or KS2.
• Availability Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm, with full‑time or part‑time options.
