Special Needs Education Tutor (Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Special Needs Education Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and English for looked‑after children and students with EHCPs in Hounslow. The role is part‑time, temporary and offers flexible morning, noon or evening sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and/or English, adapting content to each learner’s ability and learning profile.
• Support pupils with a range of SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, global development delay and communication difficulties.
• Design and deliver individualised lesson plans that align with EHCPs or identified support requirements.
• Maintain a calm, consistent and encouraging approach to build trust and promote engagement.
• Communicate regularly with parents, carers and professionals to ensure coordinated support.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting.
• Experience teaching or supporting Functional Skills and core subjects (Maths or English).
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Ability to adapt curriculum materials to diverse learning needs.
• Strong organisational skills for planning individual lesson plans.
