Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Full‑Time (Altrincham)

About the role

This full‑time position supports a welcoming SEN primary school in Altrincham. You will work directly with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to deliver personalised learning programmes.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development.
• Promote independence while maintaining a safe, positive learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have special educational needs.
• Patient, caring and committed to each child’s success.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive, flexible and adaptable to individual pupil needs.
• Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
