About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 7‑16 with autism and complex learning needs in a dedicated SEN school in Dorking. This full‑time, term‑time position offers a rewarding environment where you will work closely with teachers, therapists and counsellors.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering the learning experience.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with learning, physical, sensory or behavioural challenges.
- Follow and implement safeguarding guidelines in the classroom.
- Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions and complete required documentation.
- Maintain consistent, trusted relationships with pupils to promote progress.
Required profile
- Compassionate, caring approach with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with pupils.
- Willingness to work 1:1 and in small groups.
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
- Reliable transport to Dorking and flexibility to start ASAP or in September.

- Competitive daily rate of £93‑£105 (PAYE).
- Monday‑Friday schedule, 08:30‑15:30.
