About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support children and young people who have experienced trauma in our SEND school in Plymouth. The role involves creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment and working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with children and young people who require trauma‑informed care and support.
• Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual needs.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
• Assist with personal care tasks where required.
• Help learners develop social and emotional skills.
