Special Needs Tutor – Part‑time, Flexible Hours

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate Special Needs Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for looked‑after children and students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in Bromley. The role is part‑time, temporary and offers flexible sessions in the morning, noon or evening.
Key responsibilities
- Provide personalised tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and/or English, adapting content to each learner’s ability and profile.
- Support pupils with a range of SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, global development delay and communication difficulties.
- Design and deliver individualised lesson plans that align with EHCP requirements.
- Maintain a calm, consistent and encouraging classroom atmosphere to build trust and engagement.
- Communicate regularly with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure coordinated support.
Required profile
- Minimum one year of experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting.
- Experience teaching or supporting Functional Skills and core subjects (Maths or English).
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
- Desirable: SEN qualification, ABA experience, training in autism or social communication strategies, PGCE or QTS, experience in alternative provision.
