Specialised SEND Tutor – Part‑time 1:1 Tuition

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate Specialised SEND Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across Warrington. The role is part‑time, flexible and focuses on helping learners overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons for individual learners.
• Adapt teaching strategies to suit a range of SEND profiles, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Provide tuition in students' homes, schools or community venues as required.
• Monitor and report on learner progress, adjusting plans to ensure continued development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with learners, families and any supporting staff.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) or substantial tutoring experience.
• Proven experience working with SEND pupils, delivering 1:1 or small‑group support.
• Ability to differentiate lessons and adapt approaches to individual learning styles.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing attitude.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND pedagogy and differentiation techniques.
