Specialised SEND Tutor – Part‑time (5‑15 hrs/week)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified Specialised SEND Tutor to work with individual pupils in Warrington. The role combines academic tuition in core subjects with mentoring activities that help young people develop life‑skills and integrate into the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one tuition in core subjects for SEND pupils.
• Plan and lead local trips to support social integration.
• Assist pupils with CV writing, future planning and essential life‑skills.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and mentoring outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience working with SEND or disengaged students.
• UK teaching experience and a creative, patient approach.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional child‑related references.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) frameworks.
• Ability to design and deliver personalised lesson plans.
• Effective communication and mentoring techniques.
