Specialised SEND Tutor (Part‑time) – St Helens

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SEND Tutor to provide one‑to‑one educational support for children and young people in St Helens. You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons that address each learner’s unique barriers and help them make meaningful academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored lessons for SEND learners on a 1:1 basis.
• Identify and address individual learning barriers to promote academic achievement.
• Provide emotional support to build confidence and independence.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with SEND learners.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching/tutoring experience.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable attitude.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional child‑related references.
