Specialist Hygiene Technician – Croydon (London)

About the role

Rentokil is looking for a Specialist Hygiene Technician to join its Croydon branch, serving South West and South East London. No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. You will work on a variety of cleaning and decontamination projects, managing your own schedule and delivering high‑quality service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bio‑hazard cleaning, flood water damage cleanup, infection control, police and prison cell cleaning, sharps removal, and trauma/crime‑scene cleaning.
• Carry out technical cleaning tasks such as factory cleans, high‑level work, and silo cleaning.
• Work reactively in a fast‑paced environment where assignments change weekly.
• Participate in an on‑call rota and receive enhanced pay for on‑call work.
• Offer advice to customers and maintain a professional image at all times.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence held for more than two years with no more than six penalty points.
• Self‑motivated, reliable, proactive and flexible with working patterns.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check where required.

• Basic salary £26,655 per annum plus a £2,000 yearly allowance; OTE £35,000+.
