Specialist Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) – London (Hybrid)

About the role

The Gateway service is seeking a Specialist Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) to support autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities who have experienced sexual violence. This hybrid, full‑time position is temporary for three months, offering £15.50 per hour plus holiday pay.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of survivors, delivering tailored advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Develop individual support plans and conduct risk assessments.
• Facilitate access to health, housing, therapeutic, legal, safeguarding and specialist services.
• Provide impartial information on reporting options and criminal‑justice processes.
• Support survivors throughout police investigations, court proceedings and post‑trial stages where appropriate.
• Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) when requested and advocate under the Victims' Code and Witness Charter.
• Maintain accurate, confidential case records and contribute to monitoring and reporting.
• Build and sustain partnerships with police, health services, social care and specialist organisations.
• Deliver awareness‑raising sessions and help develop sector best practice.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience supporting adults affected by sexual violence, abuse, trauma or other forms of violence against women and girls.
• Experience working with autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities.
• Strong understanding of trauma‑informed, person‑centred advocacy.
