Specialist Learning Support Assistant (SEND) – West London

About the role

We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic individuals to join our SEND team in West London from September 2026. As a Specialist Learning Support Assistant you will work closely with teachers and specialist professionals to help learners with a variety of additional needs access education, develop independence, and achieve personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for learners with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy, communication and life‑skill development.
• Support participation in lessons, enrichment activities and work experience placements.
• Deliver personal care such as toileting, feeding, dressing and hygiene when required.
• Assist mobility using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment.
• Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and EHCP outcomes.
• Administer medication and PEG feeding where trained.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner reviews.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND or additional needs.
• Caring, patient and professional attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• Willingness to provide personal care and uphold safeguarding.
