Specialist Pharmacist – Cancer Care (Edinburgh)

About the role

Join the Edinburgh Cancer Centre pharmacy team delivering high‑quality cancer care, including inpatient, day‑case and outpatient services, with rotations through Homecare and the ChemoCare electronic prescribing system.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality pharmacy services to cancer patients.
• Provide clinical pharmacy support in haematology and oncology across inpatient, day‑case and outpatient areas.
• Rotate through Homecare services and support the ChemoCare electronic prescribing and administration system.
• Contribute to service improvement projects and personal development initiatives, such as independent prescribing roles.
• Support and develop other members of the pharmacy team.

Required profile

• Master of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent) and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Completion of, or equivalent competence to, the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework.
• Experience in a patient‑focused environment, ideally influencing prescribing in secondary care.
• Strong alignment with NHS Lothian’s values and willingness to contribute to a dynamic team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the ChemoCare electronic prescribing and administration system.
• Capability to undertake independent prescribing.
