Specialist Pharmacist – Cancer Care

About the role

Join the Edinburgh Cancer Centre’s Pharmacy & Medicines Service to deliver high‑quality cancer care within NHS Lothian. The role involves supporting oncology and haematology patients across inpatient, day‑case and outpatient settings, with opportunities to develop clinical expertise and contribute to innovative treatments and trials.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality pharmacy services to cancer patients across inpatient, day‑case and outpatient settings.
• Provide clinical pharmacy support in haematology and oncology, including rotations through Homecare services and the ChemoCare electronic prescribing system.
• Contribute to service improvement projects and support the development of other pharmacy team members.

Required profile

• Master of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent) and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Completion of, or competence equivalent to, the Post‑Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework.
• Experience in a patient‑focused environment, ideally influencing prescribing in secondary care.

Required skills

• Clinical pharmacy knowledge in oncology/haematology.
• Use of ChemoCare (Chemotherapy Electronic Prescribing and Administration System).
