Specialist School Practice Development Nurse (Term‑time)

About the role

This term‑time only position is based at Cedar House, St. Michael's Community Hospital, supporting the Specialist School Nursing team in North London. The post holder will lead the development of induction packs and ensure high‑quality placements for nursing learners in line with NMC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain robust induction packs for pre‑registration nursing students and new starters.
• Coordinate and monitor placement quality across the specialist school, continuing care and community children’s teams.
• Deliver professional development and training to meet mandatory and additional competencies for nurses, nursing associates, HCAs and students.
• Act as practice supervisor and assessor, providing guidance on complex paediatric care.
• Work autonomously and collaboratively to promote best practice within the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in acute and community children’s services.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Proven experience as a practice supervisor/assessor.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
