Specialist SEND Tutor – Part‑time 1:1 Tuition

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Specialist SEND Tutor to provide one‑to‑one tuition for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in the Wirral. The role is part‑time, offering 5‑15 flexible hours per week from September 2026, and focuses on delivering personalised support that helps learners overcome barriers and achieve academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 lessons for SEND students in homes, schools or community settings.
• Assess individual strengths and needs to create bespoke learning programmes.
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching approaches to maximise outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents or guardians.
• Collaborate with Prospero Teaching’s support team to ensure consistent, high‑quality tuition.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE) or substantial tutoring experience.
• Experience supporting learners with EHCPs or additional learning needs.
• Proven ability to deliver engaging 1:1 or small‑group interventions.
• Excellent communication, patience and a calm, encouraging approach.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS.
