Specialist SEND Tutor (Part‑time)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Specialist SEND Tutor to provide 1:1 academic tuition and mentoring for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in the Sefton area. The role blends curriculum teaching with life‑skill support to help learners build confidence and plan for their future.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver core curriculum subjects to SEND students on a one‑to‑one basis.
• Provide tailored mentoring, including CV writing, future planning and confidence‑building activities.
• Organise and accompany students on community trips to promote social integration.
• Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual SEND requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience working with SEND students or disengaged young people.
• Previous teaching experience in the UK.
• Creative, patient and flexible attitude.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List check (or willingness to obtain one) and registration on the Update Service.
• Two professional references relating to work with children.
