Specialist Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a Specialist Support Worker to provide person‑centred care for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and complex support needs. Working from our Furlong Close base in Rowde, Devizes, you will help individuals live as independently as possible within their own homes and the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage and support people to take an active role in their community and promote independence.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, budgeting and routine planning.
• Communicate using each person’s preferred method, including non‑verbal and alternative communication tools.
• Apply positive behavioural support approaches and respond calmly to challenging behaviours.
• Maintain accurate records and promptly report any changes in health or circumstances.
• Work collaboratively with the team while also using initiative to meet individual needs.

Required profile

• Experience working with individuals who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health or complex needs, or a strong willingness to develop in this area.
• Calm, resilient and patient demeanor with the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding, dignity and person‑centred care.
• Legal right to work in the UK for at least 12 months.
