Specialist Teaching Assistant – Flexible Supply Opportunities

About the role

We are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to join our specialist service supporting secondary‑aged pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role offers flexible supply work, ranging from short‑term emergency cover to longer‑term placements, and focuses on delivering personalised support aligned with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SpLD, SLCN, SPD and executive functioning challenges.
• Implement de‑escalation techniques, Team Teach strategies and trauma‑informed practice.
• Collaborate with pastoral teams, inclusion leads and multi‑agency professionals to ensure cohesive provision.
• Contribute to annual reviews, provision mapping and EHCP outcome tracking.
• Offer emergency or planned cover across a range of schools within the South East England region.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a SEND setting.
• Passion for supporting secondary pupils with diverse needs.
• Flexibility to work full‑time, part‑time, short‑term or long‑term assignments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
