Specification Sales Manager – Surface Materials (2 roles)

About the role

The Specification Sales Manager – Surface Materials will be responsible for driving specification sales of laminate and wood‑based surface products across a range of commercial projects. The role is based in London and focuses on generating specifications through architects, interior designers, fabricators and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop specification opportunities for laminate surfaces used in doors, furniture, walls, washrooms and bonded panels.
• Engage architects, interior designers, retail end‑users and contractors to secure project specifications.
• Collaborate closely with field sales and business development teams to hand over qualified projects.
• Manage order values ranging from £1,000 to £150,000 and ensure smooth fulfillment through distribution channels.
• Target a portfolio of schools, hospitals, retail stores, offices, sports centres and similar commercial environments.

Required profile

• Proven specification sales experience within the construction industry.
• Existing contacts with architects and interior designers are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently with a problem‑solving mindset.
• Experience in showroom sales dealing with specifiers is considered.
• Commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills are advantageous.

• Salary £50,000 – £60,000 per annum plus a 15%‑50% target‑related bonus.
