Speech and Language Therapist – Basingstoke SEN School

About the role

Academics is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join its SEN Academy Group across three schools in Basingstoke, Hampshire. This permanent role offers the chance to develop and lead a dedicated therapy service for pupils aged 5‑19.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and develop a speech and language therapy service across three schools.
• Design and deliver a continuing professional development (CPD) programme for school staff.
• Integrate therapeutic strategies into the curriculum to support a wide range of SLCN needs.
• Participate in clinical supervision sessions and provide peer supervision where appropriate.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and manage communication difficulties.

Required profile

• Recognised professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC and RCSLT registration.
• Proven experience working within a multidisciplinary team with children or adults who have communication needs.
• Ability to assess, treat and manage a broad spectrum of language and communication difficulties in young people aged 5‑19.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and treatment planning for speech, language and communication needs.
• Delivery of CPD and training sessions for staff.
• Embedding therapeutic strategies across curriculum activities.
• Supervision and mentorship of peers.
