Speech and Language Therapist

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with a specialist school in Farnborough to create a new Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) provision. The role starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting pupils aged 4‑16 with moderate to severe learning difficulties and SEMH needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of a high‑quality SaLT service across the school.
• Deliver specialist, outcome‑focused interventions for pupils with communication needs.
• Embed speech and language strategies throughout the curriculum.
• Assess, diagnose and support pupils with a range of communication difficulties.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external professionals, maintaining accurate records and contributing to EHCP reports.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration (essential).
• Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Minimum two years’ experience working as a SaLT practitioner.
• Experience supporting children with ASC and/or SEMH needs.
• Confident delivering staff training and working within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Assessment and diagnosis of communication difficulties.
• Development of individualized therapy plans and implementation of evidence‑based, child‑centred practice.
