Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our Children’s Speech and Language Therapy team in South West England. Working 19 hours per week during term time, you will support children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) through person‑centred interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver therapy programmes designed by a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
• Develop the skills of the Team Around the Child (TAC) and embed communication strategies in everyday settings.
• Maintain accurate, timely records of each child’s progress.
• Provide administrative support to the clinical work of SLTs.
• Visit a range of educational settings across south Wiltshire during the working week.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and compassionate attitude towards children and families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
