Speech & Language Therapist – Band 6/7 (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6/7) to join our vibrant community‑based college centres in Sutton, supporting students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Apply a person‑centred approach to promote choice, independence and inclusion, aligned with the Valuing People agenda and Human Rights Act.
• Model respect and neuro‑diverse‑affirming collaborative practice, upholding students’ dignity and rights.
• Coordinate with external agencies (schools, work placements, social services) to ensure seamless transition of communication, eating and drinking information.
• Assess communication, eating & drinking and learning environment needs using formal and informal tools, manage a clinical caseload independently and utilise AAC systems.
• Support teaching and support staff by contributing to support plans, delivering training, coaching and conducting classroom observations.

Required profile

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
• Current registration with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
• Experience conducting communication and swallowing assessments.
