Speech & Language Therapist (Maternity Cover)

About the role

Join Witherslack Group as a Speech & Language Therapist on a one‑year maternity cover at Luxborough Court School, an independent specialist day school in Essex. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to support children and young people with autism and complex SEND needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment, formulation and individualized speech and language interventions.
• Collaborate with educational and residential staff to create therapeutic learning and living environments.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and group therapy sessions tailored to each pupil’s needs.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to multidisciplinary case reviews.
• Support the school’s SEND model by integrating clinical expertise across curricula.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist (registered with the relevant professional body).
• Experience working with children on the autism pathway or with neuro‑developmental conditions.
• Ability to work in a specialist day‑school setting for a fixed‑term (12 months).
• Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Individualized intervention planning and delivery.
