Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant – September Start!

About the role

The role supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs in an Alternative Provision setting. You will work one‑to‑one and in small groups, helping students aged 4‑19 engage with their lessons and progress academically.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils during lessons and throughout the school day.
• Develop an understanding of individual learning styles and needs, particularly for SEMH students.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers and other staff to deliver tailored support.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Adapt support across different year groups according to your experience and preference.

Required profile

• Supporting Teaching and Learning or childcare‑related qualification (desired).
• Experience working with children in UK schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive and positive attitude.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and registration with the online update service.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
