SSAS Administrator – Hybrid, North London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SSAS Administrator to join a multi‑office, award‑winning wealth management firm in North London. Working on a hybrid basis (three days in the office), you will manage the day‑to‑day administration of Small Self‑Administered Schemes (SSAS) for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard new SSAS applications, collate data, draft scheme documentation and register the scheme with HMRC online.
• Set up SSAS bank accounts, register with The Pensions Regulator and the ICO, and assist with transfers of existing pensions.
• Manage SSAS takeovers, including obtaining records, preparing deeds of removal and updating trustee details.
• Maintain SSAS records in XPlan, handle client queries, process transfers, deaths, changes of trustee or sponsoring employer, and update regulatory filings.
• Prepare and send SSAS invoices, chase unpaid invoices and manage fund split records.
• Coordinate pension scheme returns, liaise with accountants, analyse bank transactions and submit returns to HMRC.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering Small Self‑Administered Schemes.
• Strong knowledge of HMRC online services, The Pensions Regulator and ICO requirements.
• Ability to handle complex client queries and regulatory changes.
• Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
