Staff Nurse – Childhood Immunisations

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Children & Families Health team at Ayrshire Central Hospital. You will support the delivery of routine childhood immunisation programmes across the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, providing high‑quality nursing care to children, young people and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver routine childhood immunisation services in line with national guidelines.
• Promote health and wellbeing for early‑years, school‑age children and young people, following the GIRFEC model.
• Provide advice and support to parents, carers and families.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• First‑level registered nurse (Band 5).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience working with children and families, preferably in a community setting.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
