Staff Nurse – Clinical Research

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join the Core Clinical Research Facility (CRF) nursing team at The Christie, a leading cancer centre in Manchester. The role offers the chance to combine nursing practice with clinical research, contributing to innovative cancer treatments delivered through clinical trials.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients participating in clinical trials, ensuring safety and protocol compliance.
• Assist with the delivery of new and innovative cancer treatments within the research setting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers and oncologists, to support trial activities.
• Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to data collection for research purposes.
• Work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights and occasional weekends, to meet trial schedules.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse with registration to practice in the UK.
• Enthusiastic, motivated and flexible with a strong initiative.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to develop skills in clinical research and oncology nursing.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of clinical trial procedures (training provided).
• Ability to follow a competency framework and adhere to clinical protocols.
