Staff Nurse – Community Nursing (New Scots Coordinator)

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join the New Scots Community Nursing team at Greenock Health Centre. You will provide culturally sensitive, person‑centred care to refugees, asylum seekers and other newly arrived residents across Glasgow and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage a caseload of New Scots patients with complex health and social care needs.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing interventions.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, healthcare support workers and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Collaborate with health, social care, third‑sector and partner agencies to ensure effective care coordination and discharge planning.
• Support patients in accessing appropriate healthcare services while promoting health improvement, wellbeing and independence.
• Lead clinical risk assessment, incident reporting, quality improvement activities and implementation of best‑practice standards.
• Contribute to staff development through mentorship, training, supervision and support for new and existing team members.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC 1st Level Registration.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse communities and partner organisations.
• Demonstrable leadership, organisational and case‑management abilities.

• Fixed‑term contract for 12 months, part‑time (five days a week, 08:00‑18:00, including weekends and public holidays).
