Staff Nurse – Community Treatment and Care (CTAC) – Central

About the role

The NHS Borders CTAC Central team is seeking a motivated Staff Nurse to join our new Community Treatment and Care service. This is a 30‑hour per week, fixed‑term position (until 31 March 2027) delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care across several communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in community settings.
• Work autonomously while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilise IT systems to record patient information and manage care plans.
• Travel between sites (Galashiels, Stow, Lauder, Earlston, Melrose) using a personal vehicle.
• Maintain professional standards and adhere to NHS policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to work family‑friendly hours, Monday‑Friday.
• Experience in community nursing is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
