Staff Nurse – Ward 1, St Andrews Community Hospital

About the role

Two permanent positions are available for a Registered Staff Nurse on Ward 1 at St Andrews Community Hospital. The ward is a 24‑bed rehabilitation unit focused on older adults, supporting recovery, adaptation and discharge planning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to patients in a rehabilitation setting.
• Coordinate complex discharge plans and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to health and safety initiatives to minimise risk.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and use IT systems for patient records.
• Provide education and support to patients, families and junior staff.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current UK registration.
• Passion for caring for older adults and experience in rehabilitation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage complex clinical situations.
• Willingness to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hospital IT systems for patient documentation.
