Stakeholder and Communications Manager

About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced Communications Manager to play a key role in devising and delivering strategic communications for the General Dental Council. You will join the Communications and Engagement team to deliver impactful campaigns across digital, social and other channels, connecting with dental professionals, external partners, patients and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver strategic communications plans with measurable outcomes in collaboration with colleagues.
• Create strategic communications content for digital and social media channels.
• Edit and manage the monthly registrant and stakeholder e‑newsletters, including content creation, distribution and evaluation reporting.
• Support the Senior Communications Manager in producing the GDC’s corporate reports.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver engagement activities and communication products for external audiences such as the public, patients, government officials, education providers and professional bodies across the UK.

Required profile

• Proven experience creating strategic communications plans and content for corporate reports, presentations, digital and social media.
• Excellent organisational and project‑management skills, delivering multiple initiatives on time and within budget.
• Experience analysing communication data, identifying trends and improving content based on insights.
• Knowledge of UK political processes, public affairs and the healthcare or public‑sector regulatory environment, with an understanding of the media landscape.
