Static Maintenance Operative (Fabric Technician)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Fabric Technician to join a growing team responsible for maintaining a prestigious portfolio of public sector buildings. You will be the first point of contact on‑site, ensuring that all fabric and basic engineering assets are kept in excellent condition.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows and fitted furniture.
• Provide first‑response service for leaks, blockages and other faults, making sites safe immediately.
• Carry out Legionella duties (L8 flushing, temperature checks), plant‑room inspections and AHU filter changes.
• Perform painting, redecorating and ad‑hoc cleaning tasks as required.
• Prepare risk assessments (RAMS), close jobs in the Maximo CAFM system and supervise on‑site subcontractors.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong background in building maintenance with a focus on carpentry, plumbing or decorating.
• NVQ or equivalent in a relevant trade is desirable.
• Professional, customer‑facing attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
