Station Assistant – Onboard Train Assistant (Penzance)

About the role

We are seeking a professional, customer‑focused Onboard Train Assistant to work from Penzance station, travelling to Exeter and back each shift. The role involves providing excellent service to passengers and ensuring safe handling of luggage on the train.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service to passengers throughout their journey.
• Store and secure luggage on the train safely.
• Travel on the train to monitor luggage safety.
• Assist customers with enquiries, travel information and onward connections.
• Maintain passenger safety and comfort at all times.
• Support customers with accessibility requirements.
• Keep the train environment clean, safe and welcoming.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
• Teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Previous customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
