Stochastic Modeller

About the role

Oliver James is partnering with a global re‑insurer to expand its quantitative modelling team. As a Stochastic Modeller you will design and implement stochastic models for complex transactions across Europe, North America and the growing APAC region. The role is based in central London with a hybrid schedule (2‑3 days in the office).

Key responsibilities

• Build stochastic models from the ground up to support pricing, risk and capital assessments.
• Develop and maintain quantitative models for a variety of cross‑border transactions.
• Collaborate with actuarial and risk teams to translate business requirements into robust analytical solutions.
• Contribute to the team’s expansion into APAC by delivering high‑quality modelling work.
• Provide technical expertise in a fast‑moving middle‑office environment where each transaction is unique.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience in a quantitative or actuarial role with a focus on modelling.
• Proven ability to create stochastic models from scratch.
• Confidence using actuarial programming languages and data‑analysis tools.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
