Stock Condition Surveyor

About the role

The forward‑thinking London Local Authority is seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to support the effective management of its residential property portfolio. You will collect and maintain accurate condition data to inform asset management, capital investment and compliance programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake condition surveys across residential properties and assess building components and life‑cycle requirements.
• Record property information accurately within asset management systems.
• Produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for the housing stock.
• Create basic floor plans and section drawings.
• Identify maintenance requirements and property defects.

Required profile

• Experience conducting stock condition surveys in social housing, local authority or residential property environments.
• Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) able to produce EPCs.
• Experience producing floor plans and basic section drawings.
• Good understanding of building construction, defects and planned maintenance.
• Familiarity with asset management databases and surveying software.
• Strong reporting and data‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.
