Stock Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Stock Controller to join our family‑run business supplying construction equipment. The position starts as a temporary role with the possibility of becoming permanent after a successful probation period.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Goods In and Goods Out processes and maintain accurate stock records in the Sage system.
• Operate a counter‑balance forklift and control the distribution of stock within the store.
• Issue and allocate parts to various construction projects.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and support picking, packing and kit assembly.
• Assist the Accounts and Service teams with parts enquiries, customer quotes and orders.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers and process weekly orders.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar store or warehouse environment.
• Ability to recognise mechanical and electrical components.
• Clean driving licence and computer literacy (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Current counter‑balance forklift licence.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
