Stock Controller – Stock Planning Role

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised Stock Controller to join a fast‑paced, collaborative team in Salford. The role focuses on maintaining optimal stock levels, meeting availability targets and supporting the business through effective planning and communication.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with suppliers to ensure purchase orders are delivered on time and in full.
• Track availability of key products and align performance with business targets.
• Manage stock levels to agreed cover, supporting working capital goals and reducing excess stock.
• Analyse stock holdings to identify slow‑moving or obsolete lines (SLOB).
• Work collaboratively with Buying, Operations and Sales teams to maximise availability and service levels.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Stock Planning function.

Required profile

• Experience in a stock planning or supply‑chain environment.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of stock management principles.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
