Storage Engineer – Hybrid & Cloud Platform Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a senior Storage Engineer to design and evolve modern storage platforms across hybrid and cloud environments for a market‑leading global hedge fund. You will work in London alongside world‑class engineers, focusing on scalable, automated, and low‑latency storage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate hybrid‑cloud storage platforms integrating with compute and network infrastructure.
• Develop self‑service capabilities and automation to reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability of storage services.
• Drive adoption of modern storage practices and technologies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience operating storage systems in large‑scale, low‑latency environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Not a fresh graduate; senior‑level expertise required.

Required skills

• Protocols: NFS, SMB, S3, Fibre Channel, NVMe‑oF.
• Operating systems: Linux.
• Scripting: Python, Bash.
• Storage platforms: NetApp, Pure Storage, VAST, Weka, GPFS, cloud storage solutions.
